Feb. 27, 2007. 12:20 AM. After Alegre Guitars, one of the bus went to see the Mactan Shrine that is just a block away. Mactan Shrine is where the Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan was slane by Lapulapu during 1521. The battle of Mactan also happened here where the forces of Lapulapu couragely fought, with just mere spear and knives and drove them back to their ships.

The place was impresively preserve with some structures during that time still standing. The place speaks for itself about the history, with all the spanish influences, and the war that happened there. A large painting depicting the clash between the natives and the spaniards that led to the demise of Magellan welcomed us, as we went inside the shrine.
